“ As a tourist we visited this place a few times to get food and snacks. I enjoyed the selection which was decent for a small town. Anyone complaining about the selection just doesnt understand that a small city doesnt support the same store size as huge metro areas. The prices were a little higher than big cities in Texas where I live, but overall, not bad. I have no complaints. ”
“ The staff here are so nice. We came from out of town and despite us not having a Safeway number, the cashier put one in for us to get us discounts. It wasnt necessary but really appreciated and I didnt realize they had done that at the time. So thank you to that cashier. We found out it can get very busy and it is a small store, so go during non peak times if you want to avoid the crowds. ”

“ I am not a people person. I have a serious medical issue that is very difficult to understand, harder to explain, and even worse when dealing with someone that thinks their helping you when they really arent. So, Im writing this because as much as a pain in the neck I can be, I want to shout it out loud when someone is exceptionally helpful. A few weeks ago, I was driving through Colorado and I started having an attack. I immediately looked up the nearest WalMart as they sell what I need over the counter and sadly, the nearest one was 45 minutes away, so I landed in the Leadville Safeway. While there, my thoughts where racing and confused, my anxiety was through the roof, and I was full on melt down panic mode. When a very kind sounding voice spoke up behind me and said Excuse me sir, are you okay? There was a young Lady from the Pharmacy standing there I learned her name is Tianna with the most caring look on her face. I explained to her what was going on, and she immediately did everything right. I didnt have to explain anything to her, I didnt have to correct anything she did Its not fair to the people who are trying to help, but with a mental health issue, even what someone intends as helpful, isnt always. She helped me look for the medication I needed sadly they didnt have it but it was a shot in the dark anyway, was kind, compassionate and considerate. She went above and beyond helping me, and as someone who was in crisis, I was, and am, exceptionally thankful for her assistance. Thank you to the Lady who helped, and thank you to this Safeway in general for being very understanding. ”
“ This Safeway store is not bad at all for being in a mining town that is over 10K feet in elevation. It amazes me the reviews, trucking produce and good product up here is not easy. Its expensive and nothing grows up at this alltitude very well so the produce has to be hauled a long way diesel fuel and trucks cost money. Show up on time and they are open, no one wants to buy their groceries in a store where dogs and what ever other service animal treads. We dont come to your house or kennel to buy groceries. This is a mining town, folks might want to read up on the history here and how hard people had to live back 100 years ago. Its obvious that Laura had her eye on a shop lifter. Good for her. ”
